The work summarises the results of a research on influence of human-induced load on the spruce ecosystem in the National Park Malá Fatra Mts. We have collected data on biomass and necromass of fine roots on three model plots. The first plot represented an ecosystem loaded by tourism (visitors), the second was human-loaded by management and the third was a control. The research confirmed negative impact of visitors on the spruce ecosystem, primarily by trampling down and disturbance of the soil surface. The by-tourists-visited plot contained throughout its whole 30 cm horizon only somewhat more than 50% of necromass, and the content of the biomass of fine roots was also the lowest compared to the other plots. No influence of other anthropic factors (air pollutants) has been confirmed using this method.
