The author deals with the location of ground destruction in a system of geomorphic processes and classifies the phenomena and forms of the ground destruction in high mountain areas into five primary groups. Further an extent of the destroyed soil mantle, an action of different morphogenetic processes during the year as well as a rate of ground destruction processes are evaluated in areas above the timberline in the Western Carpathians.-Author
