We evaluated asymmetry of morphometric features and Ellipsoid biovolume (EV) for 912 (426 ♂, 486 ♀) individuals of the species Carabus hortensis during the years 2015 – 2017 on 3 forest habitats. Descriptive statistics confirmed the asymmetry and shortening of the morphometric feature thickness at locality 2 in both sexes. Friedman's test showed shortening of morphometric features (for length (p = 0.048), thickness (p = 0.015), width (p = 0.072)) in the direction of the urban – suburban – rural gradient. Ellipsoid biovolume (EV) of the sites examined, represents 707,667.30 mm3 (0.7 liters). Friedman test significantly confirmed (p = 0.040) decreasing body size (EV) in anthropically intensively disturbed areas, due to urbanization towards the city. The lower average values of EV, sites 1,2 compared to site 3 may be influenced by former glass production at sites 1 and 2 (Kruskal-Walis test – p = 0.00).
