The article deals with the creation of a flash flood hazard map. The aim of this text is to create a flash flood hazard map that takes into account all the factors influencing rainfall-runoff processes in the landscape. For the development of the flash flood hazard map, we rely on existing approaches to determine maximum design flows for small catchments without direct observations, and we try to adapt them so that they can be used to determine the design flow and subsequently the magnitude of the flood hazard continuously for the catchment area. Geographic information systems tools are used to model the spatial distribution of environmental parameters that determine the magnitude of the hazard. Based on an initiating natural process that negatively affects the interests of human society, we define the hazard as a physical quantity that can be expressed by a map. The hazard map should serve as a basis for management and planning of human activities in the landscape.
